NJ Tutor Bios

Adebola B. graduated from Rutgers University with an MA in financial accounting and a BS in accounting. She maintained a 3.49 GPA. Bola has extensive experience as an auditor, as well as assessing financial data, including assessing risks, financial management, and performance data. She has enjoyed helping students of all ages with their math classes and data analysis.

Fun fact: Bola loves singing and croquet in her spare time.

Adeola A. is majoring in biomedical engineering and in a scholars honors engineering program, Grand Challenge Scholars Program. She is a very experienced tutor in all subjects. Adeola is currently interning in data science at a Neuromotor Behavior and NeuroRehabilitation Engineering Laboratory. She was previously a Governor STEM Scholar, at the Research & Development Council of New Jersey. Adeola is a manufacturing team member on the  NJIT SAE Baja Racing Team, using the Bridgeport, Machine Lathe, and CNC machine to curate car parts, and using Fusion 360 to operate the CNC machine and Solidworks 3D modeling knowledge to ensure accurate build of car parts. Adeola has taken AP Literature, AP English Language, AP Composition, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Seminar (writing), AP Environmental Science, US History, and AP US Government and Politics. 

Fun fact: Adeola loves to sew and crochet! She is currently making a skirt! She also enjoys using Java Script to create pictures. 

Alejandro V. is majoring in biomedical engineering at NJIT. He is a wonderful math, science, computer science, and test prep tutor. He has experience tutoring both groups and one-on-one at a tutoring center. Alejandro is a native Spanish speaker.

Fun Fact: Alejandro loves playing piano and guitar.

Alessandra B. is in a program to receive her BS and MD degree in 7 years from Syracuse University and Upstate Medical University also in Syracuse. Alessandra is majoring in biology. She is a very active tutor for all ages as well as a current tutor for many college science courses. Alessandra’s current internship is working in a genetics lab. Upon graduation, Alessandra is planning to become a Pediatric Oncologist. She scored a 1530/1600 and a 34 on the ACT. She took the following AP courses: AP Biology, AP World History, AP United States History, AP Physics, AP Calculus, AP Literature, AP Language, and AP Spanish. 

Fun fact: Alessandra enjoys teaching swim to children in her spare time.

Alyssa G. is in the Honors Program at The College of New Jersey. Alyssa is majoring in biology and minoring in psychology. She worked at an academic camp teaching science and math to children. Alyssa is an outgoing and well-rounded tutor who enjoys Spanish, writing, and standardized test tutoring.  

Fun Fact: Alyssa was an environmental educator at the Philadelphia Zoo and plans to continue her schooling to become a veterinarian.

Alyssa S. has been a public school teacher for over ten years. She has taught every grade from kindergarten through fifth. Alyssa loves teaching and prides herself on infusing creativity into her lessons. She believes in making learning significant for her students and recognizes the importance of small group and individual instruction. Alyssa is skilled in finding the best method to reach each type of learner. She participates in professional development courses offered by Columbia Teachers College. She’s also an Achievement Coach for her district, helping other teachers with best practices and identifying the best intervention for each student. She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Foundation, and Journeys reading approaches.

Fun Fact: Alyssa has a black Labrador retriever named Willow and she enjoys fostering and training dogs.

Amr E. was majoring in computer science and recently switched to biomedical engineering with a minor in artificial intelligence at NJIT. Amr is a recipient of a merit scholarship to NJIT. He scored a 720/800 on his math SAT.  Amr took AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics.  

Fun fact: Amr enjoys volleyball and basketball in his spare time.

Ana B. is a certified teacher. She has taught at both public middle and public high schools for eight years, seven of them in Wisconsin. Ana has experience teaching advanced learners in AP classes as well as special needs learners of all ages. Ana graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in history and a BS in education, and a minor in geography and political science with a certificate in education. All of her classes are literacy based and she enjoys strengthening her students’ writing and language arts skills. She also incorporates sociology lessons into her classes. Ana is trained in Columbia University’s Reading and Writing workshop and utilizes them in her classes. She individualizes her lessons so that her students can relate to what she is teaching. Ana is trained in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training with a focus on co-serving and co-planning as well as Trauma Informed Care, and Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices. She has worked in ARC to help students in all subjects.

Fun Fact: Ana is a passionate traveler. She has traveled extensively, teaching in over thirty countries!

Andrea M. is majoring in pharmacy and minoring in Chemistry at Rutgers University. She is in a six year PharmD program, to graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She is an experienced chemistry and science tutor. 

Fun fact: Andrea was in the Junior Olympics for science!

Anna L. is a professor of earth science and environmental science at Montclair State University. She holds a doctorate in geoscience from Stony Brook and a post doctorate degree from Rutgers University. Anna’s undergraduate degree is in mechanical engineering. She is a wonderful science and math tutor for all ages. Anna is a native Mandarin speaker and enjoys tutoring it as well.

Fun Facts: Anna loves biking and yoga.

Anna S. is enrolled in a six year program to earn her BA in biology and her master’s degree as a physician assistant from Seton Hall University. She maintains a 3.8 GPA. Anna is a very strong math and science tutor, and enjoys working with all types of students.. Anna worked as an aide for four year old children in the past. She also has tutoring experience with both high school and middle schoolers. Anna was the “watch aide” for her sorority, serving as an informal therapist for any sister who needed emotional support. Her calm and approachable personality help her students feel comfortable.

Fun fact: Anna loves running and skiing.

Anthony A. is majoring in biochemistry at NJIT. He is a medical laboratory assistant at a pharmaceutical company. He is currently a clinical lab technician at a toxicology lab in charge of medical organization, processing, test analyses, quality control reporting, and record keeping. Ant is a wonderful and experienced math, physics, chemistry, and biology tutor for high school and middle school age students. He has taken both AP Biology and AP Chemistry. Ant is also a mentor through Big Brothers and Sisters. 

Fun Fact: Anthony is learning coding in his spare time.

Anushka J. is majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in Japanese at Rutgers University. She is an experienced math and science tutor for all ages. Anushka is an active member of the AIAA Club, designing prototype airplanes, rockets, and cars, using AI to make the systems more efficient. She has been a helper with numerous other students in the Innovation Lab, and is part of a current team helping businesses market their products. Currently, she is working on the marketing for Eat Clean Bro. 

Fun fact: Anushka enjoys drawing, sports, and video games.

Ariana F. is currently in her second bachelor’s degree majoring in Linguistics and concentrating in American Sign Language Interpreting. Her first degree was in Family Science and Human Development with a concentration in Family and Child Studies, minoring in American Sign Language. Ariana is currently working as a nanny with aspirations to begin teaching elementary school after she graduates in December 2024. Ariana’s short-term goal is to get a masters degree in Speech-Pathology and for her long-term goal she would like to start a school for students with learning disabilities. As a tutor, Ariana brings her energetic and engaging personality to every tutoring session. She uses different ways to teach all material and caters to the students needs for learning and studying. 

Fun Fact: Ariana did gymnastics for 14 years. Ariana loves art, American Sign Language, and Science!

Ashish K. is majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in biology and chemistry at the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT. Ashish is on the premedical track, and is currently studying for the MCAT. He maintains a 3.76 GPA and plans to attain a PhD/MD. He enjoys being involved in biomedical research and is currently involved in a study using platinum to treat breast cancer. He has extensive research experience. Ashish has been very active in tutoring through an enrichment program at the Gifted Society Society. He is currently teaching anatomy and psychology and has taught numerous ten week classes for students. Ashish pays close attention to identifying and personalizing his tutoring based on the student’s needs and learning style. Ashish scored a 35 on the ACT, and a 1540 on his SAT, with a 800 on the math and a 740 on the verbal. Ashish scored 5s on AP Chemistry, AP Statistics,  and AP Calculus.

Fun Fact: In his spare time, he has enjoyed coding for Roblox.

Asma K. graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Biology. She maintained a 3.65 GPA and completed her premedical courses. She works for the American Liver Association as a researcher, and previously worked as a national coordinator for the American Liver Association. In addition, Asma is currently completing her project management certification. She scored a 1400/1600 on the SAT. She scored a 4 or 5 on the following AP courses: AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Science Capstone, AP Biology. She is a Livingston High School graduate. Asma enjoys working with all math and science students. 

Fun fact: Asma is a member of the volunteer First Aid Squad.

Axel E. graduated Seton Hall University with Honors with a major in diplomacy and international relations and a minor in Italian studies at Seton Hall University. Currently, he is working as a consultant for a law firm in NYC. He worked as an intern at the United Nations for the El Salvador delegation. Axel is a native Spanish speaker and an experienced Spanish, Italian, environmental science, math, and English tutor. Axel is passionate about languages and diplomacy, and also environmental science! Axel was a senator and finance chair in the student government at Seton Hall and was elected by his fellow students. Axel authored bills and founds initiatives to fit student needs. He was also a public relations officer for the Martin Luther King Association and has a scholarship with the MLK Scholarship Program. He is also a merit scholar recipient.

Fun Fact: Axel has been an avid saxophone player for over ten years. He played in downtown Disney and performs with his school in many festivals.

Aya Z. has an MBA in healthcare management and majored in biology at the Honors College at NJIT. She plans to attend graduate school and become a PA. Aya is an active science tutor. Aya attended a biotechnology high school and pursued the IB curriculum: IB Chemistry, IB English, IB Calculus, IB Spanish, IB History, and IB Biology. The ranking for the classes is out of 7, and she scored a 6 in every class, except for Spanish, where she achieved a 7. Aya is a confident and helpful test prep tutor. Fun Fact: Aya has two German Shepherd dogs. She also enjoys painting, reading, and playing tennis.

Ayushi S. is majoring in biomedical engineering and computer engineering and minoring in applied mathematics, in the Honors College at NJIT. She has extensive tutoring experience and plans to enter the field of education. She is applying for her phD in materials engineering and plans to become an engineering professor. Ayushi tutors all ages in science, math, coding, and standardized tests. Her friendly personality connects with students of all ages.

Fun Fact: Ayushi moved ten times before the age of ten, and enjoyed the experience of meeting new people and making new experiences.

Bella L. earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in financial math. Bella also earned a BA in applied math and finance from Emory. She is currently a teaching assistant and peer tutor for numerical methods in finance. Bella enjoys tutoring all levels of math and test prep. She scored a 800/800 on her SAT math, 790/800 on the math SAT 2, 800/800 on the physics SAT subject test, a 780/800 on the chemistry subject test, a 730/800 GMAT (top 4%), 154/170 on the verbal GRE, 170/170 (top 2%). Bella enjoys tutoring all levels of math, physics, and Mandarin.

Fun Fact: Bella loves playing the piano and has been playing since she was six years old.

Ben I. earned B.S. mechanical engineering at Bucknell University. He was a student teacher for Calculus I, Calculus II, and Physics courses. He worked as a subway tunnel ventilation systems engineer in NYC, and then moved with the company to Melbourne, AU. He primarily worked on communications and writing for that job. He moved back to Essex County and is an MBA student at Rutgers University. Ben recently scored a 710/800 on the GMAT. Ben is an experienced math and science tutor for all ages and also tutors test preparation verbal and writing sections. He is a very versatile tutor and can mentor children of all ages in almost all subjects.He scored a 730/800 on the Chemistry SAT II and a 760 on the Calculus SAT subject test. Ben enjoys helping kids bridge the gap between the subjects that come easier to them and subjects they find more difficult.

Fun Fact: Ben enjoys cooking in his spare time and has a side business, www.seasonedtraveler.us,  selling his food products.

Bhuvan B. is majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Business Administration at the SEBS Honors Program at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He maintains a 4.0/4.0 GPA. He is on a pre medical track and plans to go to medical school after college. He scored a 1550/1600 on his SAT and scored a 800/800 on the SAT. Bhuvan is a very experienced and patient math and science tutor for all levels. He has taken AP courses: AP Calculus, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP World History.

Fun fact: Bhuvan loves baseball, sports, and going to the gym. 

Brennen S. is majoring in Biology at Hofstra University. Brennen is a very active and experienced science tutor. He served as the leader of his peer tutoring program.. He took the following AP courses: AP Government and  AP Physics. After graduation, Brennen plans to work towards his phD in Biology. He would like to become a Biology professor. 

Fun fact: Brennen enjoys ultimate frisbee and video games in his spare time. 

Bridget N. graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, with a major in music and a minor in religion, maintaining a GPA of 3.79. Bridget plans to continue her education and earn her PhD in musicology, eventually teaching college level music. Bridget is a wonderful English, writing, history, French, and music theory teacher. Additionally, she is adept in elementary and middle school math. Bridget plays the piano, harp, and also tutors voice lessons.

Fun Fact: Bridget has been a swim instructor for ages 3-15 for the past seven years.

Britany A. graduated from Rutgers in 2024 with a major in Political Science and a double minor in international and global studies and sports management. She took the following AP courses: US Government, AP Mandarin, AP Biology, AP World History, AP Computer Science, and scored a 1400/1600 on the SAT. She is currently applying to law schools in New Jersey and New York City and wants to work in trusts and estates. Britney is a calm and experienced tutor. 

Fun fact: Britany was a member of the rowing team in college!

Caitlin M. is a certified k-6 teacher. Caitlin holds her BA in English and elementary education with a certification in special education. She has taught pre-k through fourth grade. She has been tutoring for eight years, elementary through high school. Caitlin has training in Orton Gillingham, Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, Words Their Way, Math Investigations, and Pearson Math. Caitlin adapts her curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student’s abilities and learning style. 

Fun Fact: Caitlin has been dancing since she was 2.5 and takes weekly ballet and tap.

Carla R. is an experienced Italian teacher. She is a native Italian speaker and completed her degrees in Italy. She holds an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in multicultural education. Previously, Carla was a social worker in Italy. When she moved to the United States, she transitioned to being an Italian teacher. Carla has loved tutoring students one on one as well as teaching classes in Italian. 

Fun Fact: Carla loves to read and spend time with her daughter in her free time.

Carly R. is majoring in psychology with a minor in medical humanities at Seton Hall University. She is an experienced tutor in the language arts, history, religion, math and science. Carly plans to continue her education and pursue a PsyD degree. She has taken the following AP courses: AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP United States History, and AP Language and Literature. She scored a 700/800 on the verbal section of the SAT and loves helping with essay writing and college essays. Before she was a psychology major, Carly majored in biology, and took numerous Chemistry and biology courses. Carly is an encouraging tutor and loves working with all ages. 

Fun Fact: She enjoys reading, writing, and painting in her spare time.

Celine M. graduated from The College of New Jersey with a major in chemistry and a certification in chemistry secondary education with research. She is a certified k-12 chemistry teacher. She has been tutoring for many years at a local middle school, at her campus tutoring center, and through Homefront, a volunteer tutoring non-profit. Celine is a wonderful tutor in many subjects and standardized tests.

Fun Fact: Celine sings and she plays piano and saxophone.

Charles B. is a certified teacher. He was a mathematics teacher and is currently a physics teacher.  He was originally a civil engineer, but turned to teaching as a second career after loving tutoring with Kaplan Test Prep. Charlie connects to students of all ages. He has also taught all sections of the GRE and GMAT test prep for NYU. He greatly enjoys helping high school and college level mathematics students. 

Fun Fact: Charles is a soccer dad, and spends a lot of time cheering on and supporting his son.

Charlotte I. is currently teaching seventh and eighth grade STEM in a NJ public school.  She is certified in grades k-8 and holds a master’s degree in STEM education. She is an experienced test prep, math, science and English tutor for all age students. She is currently teaching robotics and enjoys teaching students that the process is often more important than the product and that failure leads to growth. Charlotte is passionate about teaching and loves supporting students of all ages and subjects.

Fun Fact: Charlotte is passionate about reading and loves Zadie Smith.

Chris C. is majoring in Spanish and secondary education and is minoring in business administration at Seton Hall University. He attended Seton Hall Prep, and was a peer leader and a tutor for many high school students. Chris was a student teacher in grades 9-12. Chris is a Servant Leader Scholar, and is a very active volunteer in Habitat for Humanity. He is the student government’s education senator. Chris’s career goal is to become a Spanish teacher.

Fun Fact: Chris is an avid trumpet player, and has previously played the violin for many years.

Connor F. earned an MBA, magna cum laude, with a concentration in change management concentration, from SUNY and earned his bachelor’s degree in business, with a minor in classics, philosophy, and creative writing. He graduated with a 3.88 undergrad GPA, and a 3.73 graduate GPA. His business Connor has extensive tutoring experience, both with his own tutoring company, an outside tutoring company, as well as a peer tutor. Connor tutors all subjects, including test prep, with the exception of science. Connor has worked as a writing coach for many years, and also is well versed in improving executive functioning skills. He tutors part time, and is a human resources manager during the day. Connor is experienced with all levels and learning styles, having helped students with learning disabilities and behavioral differences. Connor tailors his tutoring to the needs of his students.

Fun fact: Connor loves bike riding.

Dana H. graduated with a BA in childhood education and holds a master’s degree in math education. She is a public school teacher in NJ, certified in grades k-8. Dana currently teaches math to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Dana has been very active in teaching conferences and workshops. She has implemented and utilized the Writer’s & Reader’s Workshop, Envision Math, Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading, Wilson Foundations, and GO! Math program.

Fun Fact:  Dana loves hiking and the beach.

Daniel C. is majoring in biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. He is on a pre-medical track and maintains a 3.86GPA. He has tutored students of all ages. He is currently part of a tutoring group working with West Philly students, helping with college essays, and all subjects for high school students. He was previously a peer tutor for four years. Daniel has taken the following AP courses:  biology, statistics, calculus, European history, US history, statistics, US government, physics 1 and physics C, totaling ten AP courses. He took the following SAT subject tests:  biology 790/800, chemistry 800/800 and math 2 800/800. Daniel scored a 1560/1600 on his SAT, with a 800/800 on the math section. He scored a 35 on his ACT. He is fluent in Mandarin and Korean. 

Fun fact: Daniel went to high school at a boarding school in Honolulu, Hawaii!

Daniel K. is in the Honors College at NJIT, majoring in biomedical engineering. He maintains a 3.9 GPA and plans to complete the five year program, and will graduate with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering materials. He currently works in IT. Daniel is a member of the build team for First Tech Robotics. Also, he is certified in AutoCAD. Daniel has an outgoing and friendly personality and enjoys tutoring all levels of math, science, test prep, and organizational and study skills. Daniel has taken the following AP courses: AP BIology, AP Calculus 1 and AP Calculus 2. He scored a 1400/1600 and 34/36 on his ACT, with a perfect score on the English, and a perfect score on the Science section.

Fun Fact: Daniel loves sailing in his spare time and has been an instructor at a sailing camp! Daniel is fluent in Polish. Daniel was in the world championships for ballroom dancing and took classes for 13 years.

Daniella K. is majoring in journalism and minoring in biology at the University of Miami. She is also on the pre-medicine track and plans to attend medical school. She maintains a 3.8/4.0 GPA. Daniella is an energetic and upbeat experienced tutor.

Fun facts: Daniella was a camp counselor for three years and loves being with children. She enjoys reading and exercising in her spare time.

Darren C. is majoring in biology and public health and minoring in healthcare administration and Chinese at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He is on the pre medical track and maintains a 3.6. Darren is a very experienced tutor in all levels of math and the sciences. He took the following AP courses: AP Calculus AB, AP Psychology,  AP United States History, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP English Language, and AP Mandarin.  He scored a 1580/1600 on his SAT, and a 800/800 on the math section. Darren is currently a research assistant. 

Fun facts: Darren loves to go to the gym every day! He also helps his parents at their restaurant.

Debra F. majored in elementary education and holds a master’s degree in education. She was a full-time classroom teacher as well as a tutor. Debra enjoys helping pre-k through high school level students on improving their skills in reading and language arts. She teaches students both individually and in groups, and currently instructs gifted students and ESL students on a regular basis. Debra is highly organized and excels at helping her students with their study skills.

Fun Fact: Debra writes fiction in her spare time.

Dylan P. is majoring in mathematics and finance at Rutgers University School of Business. He is an experienced tutor of all subjects. Dylan has taken AP Physics C, AP Physics BC, AP Statistics, AP Microeconomics, and AP Macroeconomics. He scored a 790/800 on the SAT math section, and a 710/800 on the verbal section. He plans to pursue a PhD in mathematics after he completes his undergraduate degree.

Fun fact: Dylan enjoys reading and watching movies in his spare time.

Ellen D.: Ellen is a certified English teacher. She majored in English and secondary education and is a high school English teacher. She has tutored many students and loves connecting with each student. Ellen enjoys tailoring her teaching to the strengths and weaknesses of each student. She enjoys teaching English, writing, creative writing, and verbal test prep to all ages. 

Fun Fact: Ellen was her high school valedictorian! She enjoys crocheting in her spare time.

Ellie N. graduated phi beta kappa, with a 3.85-4.0 with a double major in neuroscience and public health from Vanderbilt University. Ellie will attend medical school in 2026. Ellie is a medical assistant at a dermatology office during her gap year. She is a very active tutor for all subjects, ages, applications, and test prep. Ellie has taught group classes as well, working  for several years at a tutoring center. She scored a 34 on her ACT and a 518 out of 528 on the MCAT.  During high school, Ellie took AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Research.

Fun fact: Ellie is very energetic and loves to run in her spare time.

Emily B. is majoring in psychology and social and behavioral sciences at Seton Hall University, as well as completing her prerequisite courses to continue to graduate school in speech pathology. She was previously a biology major so she has also taken numerous science courses. Emily maintains a 3.96/4.0 gpa. She works extensively with children at a grief counseling center, as well as at the admissions office. Emily is an experienced tutor with all ages and subjects, and has previously worked as a tutor for Achieve Tutors as well as privately. Emily took AP Psychology, AP Calculus, AP, Statistics, and AP United States History. 

Fun facts: Emily enjoyed studying abroad in Italy and loves learning about different cultures.

Enid S. is a retired teacher, certified in grades k-8. Enid has a great deal of experience with all levels and types of learners. She has been a preschool teacher, a classroom teacher for a general education class, and a teacher for a self-contained special education class. In addition to her classroom teaching experience, Enid was also an intervention specialist and an assistant principal at an elementary school. Enid sees herself as a partner with her students and their families. She has a true passion for teaching and learning.

Fun Fact: Enid has six grandchildren under seven years old!

Enock A. graduated from Montclair State University with a major in biochemistry. He has been accepted at medical school and will start this fall. He plans to be a pediatrician. He is an experienced tutor who loves working with science and math students of all ages. Enock has also instructed laboratory students. He is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the American Chemical Society Scholars Program Scholarship Award, Hands-Ulrich Gubler Fellowship Award, and Deans list. 

Fun Fact: Encok loves to play soccer or run in his spare time.

Eshal is majoring in biology at Rutgers University. Eshal would like to pursue a career as a pediatrician. Eshal loves working with children and is a very encouraging tutor. Eshal tutors math, science, and computer science.

Fun fact: Eshal speaks Hindu, Urdu, and Punjabi!

Evan S. graduated with a BS in physics from Seton Hall University. He is currently a mechanical engineering student in a master’s program at Stevens Institute of Technology. He plans to work for the department of defense as a mechanical engineer. Evan took AP Environmental Science and AP Physics. Evan is an experienced math and science tutor.

Fun fact: Evan loves all sports! He enjoys soccer, lacrosse, golf, and wrestling!

Faaris Q. is majoring in electrical engineering and computer science at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Faarsi has been tutoring for four years, and has helped children of all ages and levels. Faarsi is an experienced test prep tutor. He scored a 1550/1600 on his SAT. He took the following AP courses:  AP United States History, AP English Language, AP US Government and Politics, AP Physics 1, AP Chemistry E&M, AP Chemistry Mechanics, and AP Calculus AB. He plans to pursue a career as a software engineer upon graduation.

Ginger A. is majoring in computer science and minoring in art in the Honors College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She maintains a 3.65/4.0 GPA. Ginger is a very experienced higher-level math and science tutor as well as all high school subjects. Ginger is an experienced test prep tutor.  She is an active formal mentor for several female computer science students.. She is also a mentor for a group of students who created and now maintain a company’s website. Ginger scored a 1460/1600 on her SAT. Gwen scored a 1560/1600 on the SAT (a 800/800 on the math section) and a 35 on the ACT. She maintains UNIX based networks, and also enjoys Java Python development. Gwen scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB Exam, and Computer Science 1, Computer Science Principles. She plans to work in penetration testing, a cryptosecurity subfield.

Gwen S. is a certified pre-k-8 school teacher and a veteran teacher. Gwen is also certified in special education. She has taught in an inclusion classroom and worked individually with students with special needs. Gwen has tutored ages 4-10. Gwen is trained in Orton Gillingham enjoys working with struggling readers.

Fun Fact: Gwen loves the beach! She belongs to the beach club and enjoys going regularly.

Haresh S. is majoring in computer engineering in the Honors College at NJIT. He is a full tuition scholar and maintains a 4.0/4.0 gpa. He is an experienced science tutor. He took the following AP courses: AP US History, AP Government and Politics, AP Chemistry, AP World History, AP Calculus, AP Literature and Composition,, AP Language and Composition, AP Statistics, and AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, AP Physics- Mechanics. He was a member of the Waksman Student Scholars research program through Rutgers University, working on bioinformatics and DNA sequencing, working with high level math equipment and overseeing the progress. He scored a 34 on the ACT, and tutors both the ACT and SAT. 

Fun Fact: Haresh is a first degree black belt, and loves teaching mixed martial arts.

Hassan M. is majoring in computer and electrical engineering technology and minoring in information technology at NJIT. Hassan is a long-time tutor and tutoring supervisor at a tutoring center, and has received awards for his outstanding tutoring. Hassan plans to enter the education field.

Fun Fact: Hassan loves learning languages, and has taken Spanish and Arabic. He speaks Punjabi, Hindi, Turkish, and Urdu. Hassan plans to begin studying Portuguese in the fall.

Hector L. graduated with a degree in kinesiology from Rutgers University, with honors. He is a current medical school student at Rutgers Medical School. Hector is an active teaching assistant, and has tutored both the GRE and the MCAT. Hector is in his final year of medical school and plans to become a psychiatrist. Hector took the following AP courses:  AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC and AP Biology. He scored a 750/800 on the math portion of the SAT. Hector scored in the 95th percentile for the MCAT. Hector is an experienced tutor and enjoys helping  students in all subjects and levels, as well as all subjects in standardized test prep.

Helen S. is a senior at Rutgers University, majoring in supply chain management. She is an experienced tutor of all ages, including Mandarin, math, and science classes. Helen is a graduate of Livingston Public Schools and plans to continue her academic studies in medical school. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean.

Hope H. is currently completing a master’s program in computational linguistics, a sub platform of data science. She graduated with a BS in mathematics, with concentrations in statistics and mathematical finance and with a BA in linguistics from MSU. She works as an analyst for Google, building chat platforms for customer support as a dialogue designer. Hope loves tutoring students for the same reason she loves her job; she assesses each student and finds out what would work best for his or her own learning styles. Hope is an upbeat and experienced tutor, working with elementary through high school level students. She is a well-rounded tutor, who can also tutor Python and Java. 

Fun Fact: Hope enjoys running and yoga, as well as cooking and baking.

Husein K. is majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in computer science in the Honors College at NJIT. He is the recipient of a full tuition merit scholarship. Husein maintains a 4.0/4.0 GPA. He has taken AP courses and exams and scored 4s and 5s on all of them. These courses include: AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP Physics C and AP Physics mechanics, AP Calculus AB,  Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and AP Psychology. Husein is an active and experienced math and science tutor. He also regularly teaches mixed martial arts at a martial arts school.  Husein scored a 1520/1600 on the SAT and tutors both sections.

Jaclyn T. earned her BS in social and behavioral science from Seton Hall University. She is in graduate school to earn her master’s degree in occupational therapy. Jaclyn plans to be a pediatric OT when she completes school. She has experience working with children in various capacities including as a tutor, babysitter and camp counselor.  Jacklyn loves working with elementary aged students in all subjects, as well as all levels of English.

Janushkaa D. is double majoring in finance and business analytics and information technology at Rutgers University School of Business and maintains a 3.64GPA. Janushkaa is an experienced tutor and has previously worked at a large tutoring center. She is currently interning in the corporate finance department at Colgate Palmolive. This summer she will be a risk insurance intern at KPMG. She excelled in the following AP courses: Calculus, Psychology, English Language and Composition, Environmental Science, United States History, World History. Janushkaa tutors SAT prep and scored a 770/800 on the math section. Janushkaa is a very patient and supportive tutor, who particularly enjoys working with all levels of math.

Jared H. is majoring in international affairs political science and minoring in Arabic at Northeastern University. He has extensive experience working with children including those with special needs at Lifetime through the Friendship Circle. He has helped lead teens around the United States on an educational tour. This summer he will work in the United States Attorney’s office. He has taken AP United States Government and Politics, AP United States History, AP Global History, AP Research, and AP English Literature. Jared enjoys working with all types of learners and specializes in working with students who need help with executive functioning skills including studying, planning, and organization.

Jarred M. is double majoring in mathematics and music and minoring in computer science  in the Honors College at Hofstra University. He received a full tuition merit scholarship.  He scored a 790/800 on his math SAT and a 1500/1600 overall. In high school, Jarred took ten AP courses, and scored a 4 or 5 on each. These include: AP Physics 1 (5), U.S. History (5), AP World History (5), Capstone Seminar (4), AP Statistics (5), Physics C: Mechanics (5), Music Theory (5), Calculus BC (5), Microeconomics (4).Jarred was his high school valedictorian! Jarred is a calm and supportive well rounded tutor of all subjects and test prep.

Jason R. is majoring in computer science at the Stevens Institute of Technology. Jason enjoys tutoring math and science. He founded a student run math tutoring center, with over 50 tutors. Jason was president of his school’s chess club as well as a peer mentor, and a member of the math club. Jason volunteers with Stepping Forward Counseling Center, helping disadvantaged and special needs children. Jason also enjoys tutoring math test prep and scored a 790/800 on the math SAT. On the SAT subject tests, Jason scored a 750/800 on the  math 1 750/800, and math 2 800/800. He also scored a 5 on the Calculus AB and Calculus BC exams.

Jeeshan A. is majoring in biology and minoring in computer science in the Honors College at NJIT. He is a full-tuition honors scholar, on a premedical track, maintaining a 3.94/4.0GPA. Jeeshan enjoys tutoring math, science, and test prep. Jeeshan attended an IB high school, and took the following IB exams, which are comparable to the AP exams:  IB History, IB Calculus, IB Chemistry, IB Biology, and IB History, and was able to attend college with credits from his exams. Jeisson A. is majoring in information systems  at NJIT. He plans to become a data analyst upon graduation. Jeisson loves tutoring in computer science and data analytics. Jeisson is an experienced math tutor for his high school and middle schoolers.

Jenna E. is a very experienced tutor. She was a tutor coordinator for science students, matching the tutors with students as well tutoring the students. Jenna tutors all subjects and standardized tests to high school and middle students including students with special needs. Jenna is in the dual degree program to earn her doctorate of physical therapy in six-years at Seton Hall University. We are lucky to have patient and kind Jenna. Jenna has been volunteering  for years with Soft Bones, a US Hypophosphastasia Foundation, raising awareness, fundraising, and connecting patients and families affected by hypophosphatasia.

Jess S. is a summa cum laude graduate of Tufts University. Jess’s major is clinical psychology and her minor is in English. Jessica is pursuing a PsyD at Yeshiva University. She loves working with children as a tutor, a sleep away camp counselor, and in various educational settings. Jessica has helped peers with their applications for jobs, medical school, and college. She finds satisfaction in helping people find their voice and present their ideas in a clear manner through writing. Jessica scored a  800/800 on the writing portion of the SAT, a 690 on math, and a 750 on reading. Jess tutors the GRE and scored an 88% on verbal reasoning and 98% analytical writing. She scored a 5 on her AP English language, AP English literature, and AP US History exams. Jessica is a wonderful verbal, reading, and English tutor.

Joe D. is currently teaching high school math. He has extensive tutoring experience with standardized test prep. Joe is a well-rounded tutor who specializes in social studies, writing, algebra, geometry, AP calculus and AP statistics. In addition to his impressive list of subjects, Joseph also has a master’s degree and an MBA. As an excellent scholar, he received numerous scholarships and accolades while studying as an undergraduate.

Fun Fact: Joe has been to 30 countries and has eaten pizza in all 24 countries. His favorite two pizza places were in Prague and Helsinki.

Joe V. is currently teaching a special education ELA resource room teacher in a k-8 New Jersey public school. Joe is a certified k-12 history teacher, and graduates with his master’s in special education in July. He is interested in joining a child study team. He has been tutoring and coaching for many years and enjoys helping  students of all ages.

Fun Fact: Joe previously helped put together smart classrooms, and was an audio visual technician for several years. Joe has two children and is a certified and long term high school football official.

Jolene W. is majoring in computer science and minoring in math at Columbia University. She has qualified for nationals for US NCO, the Chemistry Olympiad and has a background in chemistry and math competitions. She is active in encouraging females in STEM. She is a graduate of Newark Academy in Livingston, NJ. Jolene is a very experienced tutor, particularly in math and science. She scored a 1540/1600 on the SAT. Jolene scored a 7 chemistry hl in IB, and a 6 in IB English. She also took AP US History, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. She is currently building machine learning models to predict the timing to sell stocks.

Jomin J. is majoring in computer science in the Honors College at NJIT. He is a very experienced tutor in English, math, and SAT preparation. Jomin has worked with younger students on their study skills and organization. Jomin scored a 1560/1600 on his SAT. He scored a 4s and 5s on AP Physics, AP Computer Science A, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and AP Photography. Jomin is proficient in Java and Python.

Julianna F. is currently working as a teacher’s assistant at a school for students with special needs. She has worked in several different classrooms over the last few years. Julianna graduated with a degree in public relations as an undergraduate student and worked in sales. She decided to follow her dreams and become a teacher, and switched careers to work with students full time. Julianna will attend graduate school to become a certified teacher. Julianna is a very warm and caring teacher, and loves working with elementary and pre-elementary age students. Julianna has been trained to help students with all different needs and behaviors, using CPI, a positive reinforcement based behavior method.

Fun Fact: Julianna is a member of a year round volleyball league.

Kaavya K. is majoring in electrical and computer engineering and minoring in computer science at Rutger’s University. She is currently working in a research lab focusing on academic work. Kaavya tutors all aged students both in small groups and one-on-one. She performs analytics for a start-up company and will be working at Morgan Stanley on data and software engineering this summer. Kaavya plans to work for a technology company.

Fun Fact: She enjoys listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson and other Ted Talks during her morning runs.

Kelly M. is a native Spanish speaker with a passion for working with children and teens. In her current role at a nonprofit agency, she has gained extensive experience supporting and mentoring youth in a positive and encouraging environment. As a tutor, Kelly strives to make Spanish engaging and accessible by blending clear instruction with fun, interactive activities. Her goal is to help students not only build strong language skills but also feel confident and motivated in their learning journey.

Kevin Z. Is majoring in urban planning and design at Rutgers University. He is an experienced test prep and math tutor. Kimberly G. is majoring in urban studies and architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. She achieved the honor of Civic Scholar at UPenn. She mentors high schoolers at Paul Robeson High School in Philadelphia. Kim loves tutoring all levels of math, science, SAT, and SSAT. She has taken AP Physics, AP Calculus, AP United States History, AP English, and AP Chemistry. Kimberly tries to make sure that her students are fully engaged and enjoying the learning process. She feels that more motivated and interested students respond better to learning.

Kirsten C. is majoring in mathematics and economics and minoring in Mandarin at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Kirsten has tutored math, science, and test prep for the past six years. Kirsten was a national merit scholarship semi finalist. She was also an AP scholar with distinction. Kirsten scored a 1570/1600 on the SAT, with a 800/800 on the math section. Kristy L. is currently a certified English teacher and a summa cum laude graduate of the Honors Program at Montclair State University. She completed the five-year program in the Dual Degree Education Inclusion Program. Kristy graduated with her bachelor’s in English and completed her master’s degree in special and general secondary English Education. She is an experienced tutor and peer leader and is very experienced with special education students. She was the poetry editor and a regular contributor to her university literature magazine. Kristy is an excellent tutor for reading, writing, as well as all subjects at the elementary school level.

Fun Fact: Kristy’s poem was published in a book collection this year, titled New Jersey’s Best Emerging Poets.

Lauren H. is a certified French teacher in New Jersey. Lauren also teaches English literacy and writing. Laurie F. graduated from Boston University with a degree in English and a minor in women’s studies. Laurie initially worked in journalism and public relations. She was a founding member of NWW, a successful PR firm. Laurie was born and raised in Livingston, NJ, and returned to raise her children here. Laurie has worked for the previous six years at a Livingston elementary school, filling in based on the needs of the school. She has experience working in all elementary grades. Laurie is an essential part of the first and second grade team, and has even written the first grade curriculum. Her extensive experience includes working as a teacher assistant, teaching students with IEPs, working as a one-on-one aide in the classroom or in the resource room helping with their studies, and teaching students in small groups. Laurie has worked with many students with IEPs and is skillfully able to connect with each student to help him/her achieve success. Laurie excels at tutoring reading and writing and utilizes phonics based reading strategies. She is a very active and fun tutor, teaching elementary aged students in all of their subjects.

Leigh O. is majoring in creative writing and concentrating in education at Columbia University. Leigh maintains a 3.8/4.0 gpa. He recently worked as a teaching intern with students ages 6-16, mentoring students through their writing processes. He also volunteers as an art teacher at local Harlem public schools through the organization Artists Reaching Out. He took the following AP courses: AP Literature, AP Language and Composition, AP US History, AP Statistics, and AP Physics and scored a 98 percentile on the English section of his SAT. Leigh enjoys working with all types of learners and ages. He particularly enjoys tutoring English and reading and writing.

Leon A. earned a BS from Columbia University, with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in computer science. Leon is a very experienced tutor of all ages and levels of math and science. He taught a summer enrichment CAD design class at Bronx Science, his alma mater. Leon plans to get a job in robotics. Leon scored a 5/5 on AP Physics 1, AP Physics mechanics, AP electro physics and magnetism, and AP BC Calculus. Leon also tutors the math section of the ACT and the math section of the SAT.

Fun fact: Leon was a summer raft guide on the Arkansas River in Colorado. He loves kayaking in his spare time.

Loren O. is a MD, PhD candidate at UNC, Chapel Hill. She graduated from Harvard University with a BS in human biology and a minor in Romance languages. She is an active tutor and plans to pursue a career in academia. Loren plans to pursue a residency in child development and is very interested in helping children develop healthy habits. She scored a 97 and 98 percentile for all three sections of the MCAT. Loren is a positive and upbeat tutor for all levels.

Lynda H. is a certified early childhood education teacher and an experienced kindergarten tutor. She has been a teacher at the JCC preschool for several years. She is also good at assisting with organization and study skills. Lynda is very patient and enjoys tutoring younger children. She is experienced with special needs children and all kinds of learners.

Fun Fact: Lynda is a current softball player at second base and also has coached her daughter’s softball team as well.

Madeline (Maddie) M. majored in social and behavioral sciences with a minor in social work at Seton Hall University. She is currently in graduate school for occupational therapy. She runs a kids camp for ages 5-12 at her community pool. She organizes all of the activities as well as hires and oversees the 15 camp staff members. The camp welcomes children with special needs and Maddie works closely with these children. Her occupational therapy observation hours were completed at an elementary school. Maddie is a warm and supportive tutor. 

Fun fact: Maddie loves spending time with her family and neighbors in her spare time.

Madeline R. maintains a 3.98 GPA in the Honors Program at Seton Hall University. She is double majoring in Diplomacy and International Relations and Religion and minoring in Russian. Madeline is also earning her leadership certificate through the Buccino Leadership Institute. She passed the following AP courses: AP Psychology, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP World History, AP English Literature and Language, and AP English Composition. She is a research assistant at Seton Hall’s Diplomacy Lab where new original research is published. She just finished working on a research paper on democratic backsliding in Turkey and Hungary. Madeline plans to pursue a career in government, law, or research. Madeline is a very experienced tutor.
Fun fact: Madeline can also teach piano! She plays several instruments and plans on joining the Seton Hall Orchestra! She also loves animals and fosters dogs.

Madison H. is majoring in biology in a six year degree program and is on track to earn her master’s degree as a physician’s assistant from Seton Hall University. She maintains a 3.7GPA. Madison is interested in cardiology and vascular health. Madison loves working with younger children but also has tutored older students in all levels of math and science. Madison is a very dynamic and friendly tutor.

Maria M. is majoring in early childhood education at Montclair State University. Maria will graduate with a certification in teaching all elementary subjects. She maintains a 3.7 GPA. Maria has worked in a fourth grade classroom in Bergen County. She is experienced with all ages from toddlers to age 12. Maria is an encouraging tutor including emerging readers, and teaching students how to read. Maria loves teaching all subjects but particularly enjoys teaching the language arts and writing. Maria is a native Spanish speaker and also tutors early levels of Spanish. 

Fun Fact: Maria is an active children’s soccer referee, and also loves singing, dancing, and arts and crafts.

Marty S. is a certified elementary school teacher and has his master’s degree in special education. Marty has classroom experience as a teacher and collaborative teacher. Currently, he works with teachers and students to integrate technology into lessons and is also a co-teacher in a classroom. Marty is trained using Orton-Gillingham, and loves working with elementary school students in all subjects. Marty holds his master’s degree in special education and learning disabilities. He has led social skills groups and greatly enjoys helping students.

Max V. is majoring in computer science and minoring in finance. He scored a 720/800 on the math section of the SAT. Max tutors computer science, including python, Java, Java script, and html, as well as all math levels. Max is a native Spanish speaker and enjoys tutoring Spanish.

Megan J. is majoring in civil and environmental engineering as a master’s student at Carnegie Mellon. She earned her BS in applied mathematics and environmental sciences from Emory University. Megan was a Fulbright Scholar in Madagascar, teaching English to children. She was an assistant math teacher, writing curriculum and tests, at a local high school in Atlanta. She also was a summer camp counselor at an environmental camp. Megan loves working with students and has tutored extensively. She enjoys watching them grow, and the opportunity to customize her teaching to the individual student. She has also tutored all subjects to individual high school students. Megan has taken the following AP Courses and earned a 5 or 4: AP Human geography, AP World HIstory, AP Biology, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP US History, AP Language, AP Statistics, AP Economics, AP Psychology, AP Environmental Science, and AP Literature. She plans to be a water resources engineer, to work with the government and help with water access.

Mehr C. maintains a 3.8GPA majoring in journalism at St. Joseph’s. She is a very experienced tutor. Mehr enjoys helping students in the humanities, including writing research papers and college essays. She currently writes for a magazine called Bella, a local New York fashion magazine. Mehr plans to work in public relations. 

Fun fact: Mehr loves all creative pursuits and enjoys painting and writing short stories and poetry in her spare time.

Mekhala W. received a college in engineering. She worked as a software engineer and then as a project manager, for numerous companies. She is a very experienced tutor for homework help and particularly math. Mekhala particularly enjoys tutoring younger students. Mekhala is familiar and experienced with the math curriculum followed by Livingston Public Schools. 

Fun fact: Mekhala enjoys hiking in her spare time. 

Melissa C. majored in biochemistry and minored in mathematics with a 3.58GPA at Hofstra University. She is currently working as a clinical assistant at a fertility clinic. She has trained groups of new researchers for the laboratory she worked at during college.  Melissa has worked at a private tutoring company during college, tutoring individual students in all subjects. During high school she scored 4s and 5s on AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, AP Calculus, AP Spanish, AP Italian, and AP English Language. She plans to become a pediatrician and will apply to medical school in one year. Melissa is a native Spanish speaker.

Michelle A. is majoring in Biology and minoring in psychology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She maintains a 3.8/4.0 GPA. Miguel D. is majoring in electrical and computer engineering with a minor in robotics in the Honors College at Rutgers University. He would like to continue in the robotics field. Miguel is a native Spanish speaker, and also speaks French. Miguel earned his IB certificate. Miguel is an experienced and calm tutor of all science, math, computer science, and Spanish tutor.

Mohammed H. is currently enrolled in a master’s program in biomedical sciences at Rutgers University. He earned his BS in biology at University of Texas. Mohammed took AP Biology, AP Economics, and AP Art History. He participated in a number of very interesting shadowing experiences with doctors and dentists, including learning all about the tools and procedures in a dental office. He enjoys working with children and plans to become a pediatric dentist.

Fun Fact: Mohammed has been captain of his flag football team for the past four years.

Molly H. is a dually certified k-6 teacher and special education teacher. She was a double major in elementary education and social studies and enrolled in a five year program to earn her BA, and a master’s degree in curriculum instruction, and a special education endorsement. Her four year GPA is 3.98. Molly is an experienced tutor for students of all levels, including her peers. She has experience with small group, classroom teaching, and one on one instruction. Molly enjoys working with language arts, history, and French students. She enjoys teaching children how to read, including using phonics and Orton Gillingham techniques.

Molly R. graduated with a BS in psychology from Muhlenberg College. She graduated with a 3.75/4.0. She completed her masters degree in developmental psychology at the teacher’s college at Columbia University. She has taught numerous classes as a teaching assistant as well as tutored numerous students of all ages. Molly has taken AP Psychology, AP Literature, AP Language, and AP US History. Molly enjoys tutoring students in English, writing, college essays, psychology, statistics, history, and organizational skills.

Fun facts: Molly minored in dance and has also taught many circus classes and campers.

Mya H. is majoring in African American Studies and minoring in real estate development at the University of Pennsylvania. She scored a 760/800 on the math SAT. She took the following AP Exams: Chemistry,  Calculus AB, Statistics, Calculus BC, United States History. Mya loves reading and tutoring writing, history and math. Mya worked as a data and analytics intern for the Wharton School. She also created databases for the career services department at UPenn recruitment department. Mya has been honored as a  member of the Onyx Senior Honor Society at UPenn. She is proficient at sign language. 

Fun Fact: Mya loves reading and talking to new people! She has 13 nieces and nephews!

Naisargi P. graduated summa cum laude in biochemistry from Montclair State University. She has previously taught science in a fun and creative way to elementary school students. She is working as a research scientist at a state laboratory testing newborns for genetic diseases. Naisargi plans to continue in the health field as a physician’s assistant. She greatly enjoys working with math, science, and standardized test students.

Nana A. majored in Applied Physics and minored in Computer Science at NJIT. She has tutored students of all ages. Nana is teaching middle school general science with a focus in physics and chemistry. Next year she will be teaching at the high school level. She is in the process of obtaining certification as a 6-12 grade teacher, with a focus in science, through an alternate route. She plans to eventually obtain her Phd and possibly become a college science professor. She took 8 AP classes in high school: AP Physics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, AP Computer Science, World History, AP Microeconomics. She enjoys helping math, computer science, and science students of all ages. Nana’s calm and clear manner make her an invaluable tutor.

Nancy B. is a French professor at Seton Hall University. She holds a PhD in French Literature from University of California in Berkeley. Nancy is a certified French teacher for grades k-12. She is very engaging and helpful. Nancy also tutors Italian, language arts, college essays, and test prep for language arts. 

Fun fact: Nancy is a certified yoga teacher.

Nate R. is majoring in mathematics and minoring in psychology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He maintains a 3.5GPA. Nate is an experienced peer tutor and has worked with elementary students. Nate plans to attend graduate school in education. Nathan took the following AP Exams: AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and AP French. He enjoys tutoring elementary aged students in all subjects as well as all levels of math.

Nevin A. is enrolled in a dual degree program, obtaining his BS and Master’s degree in bioengineering. He has worked at a large tutoring center for two years, working with students from ages 8 through 18. Nevin also tutored his peers in high school. Nevin is an experienced tutor in math, language arts, and science. Nevin has taken the following AP courses: AP biology, AP statistics, and AP psychology. He volunteers at his church, both teaching CCD and public speaking to students, and he also has taken an active part volunteering for Relay for Life. Nevin has been the youth coordinator and also taught Taekwondo to church youth. He is a black belt in Taekwondo.

Nicole A. is in a dual degree program, and will graduate with a BA in English and a master’s degree in secondary education along with a certification in teaching students with disabilities. She maintains a 3.5GPA. Nicole is an experienced tutor with all ages, from aged two through 18, including test preparation. Nicole particularly loves working with elementary students with all of their subjects. Nicole also has experience helping in classrooms for grades 6-12. She has also worked in a classroom assisting with students with learning disabilities. 

Fun fact: Nicole loves art and crafts, as well as cooking in her spare time.

Nicole R. is a certified teacher for pre-k through third grade. She graduated cum laude from Caldwell University with a degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. Nicole earned numerous awards and accolades in college including Caldwell University Scholars Program, UNICEF Scholarship Recipient, Presidential and Recognition Award Scholarships. She was a teacher’s aide during her four years of college. After college, she went back to school to earn her teaching certification. Nicole then worked as a paraprofessional in pre-k through 2nd grade and she became lead teacher in the classroom. More recently, Nicole student taught in first grade. She has was a pre-k 3 teacher at a private school for 3 years. Nicole has experience with Go Math! and Pearson’s Words Our Way. She is very experienced and comfortable teaching students all subjects including how to read and improve their fluency. She also loves leading enrichment classes. 

Fun Fact: Nicole enjoys running outdoor leadership programs with students, as well as arts and crafts, dance, and science experiments.

Nigel T.  is majoring in Japanese and minoring in computer science at  Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He is an experienced Japanese tutor. Nigel is extremely passionate about the Japanese language and culture. 

Fun fact: Nigel enjoys reading novels and composing and rearranging music in his spare time.

Niyati S. is majoring in biological science at Rutgers University in New Brunswick and minoring in health administration.  Niyati scored a 770/800 on the math SAT, and a 34 on her ACT. She has also excelled in AP Physics and AP Calculus, and furthered her knowledge in those subjects by taking them in college. After college, Niyati plans to attend dental school. For the past three years, Niyati has volunteered with the Clifton Recreation Department, running games and events for children. Niyati has tutored at a large tutoring center, mentoring students ages 4-12. Niyati has taught students to read, and helped them work on their fluency utilizing phonics. She enjoys tutoring all levels of math and all subjects in elementary aged students.  

Fun Fact: Niyati competes on a competitive dance team and enjoys hip hop.

Noah is majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in computer science at NJIT. Noah has extensive tutoring experience from working at a large tutoring company. He has received wonderful feedback from his students and their parents. Noah has worked with all ages both teaching groups and helping students one on one. Noah enjoys design and is considering a career in prosthetic design. Noah is a warm and supportive tutor of all ages.

Noel A. is majoring in physics and mathematics at Rutgers University. He maintains a 3.96/4.0 GPA. Noel plans to become an academic in his career, and will pursue a phD in astrophysics after he graduates. Noel took AP Calculus AB and AP Physics in high school. Noel likes to incorporate real world examples into his tutoring, so that the students can understand the why and how the academic problems apply to real life. He scored a 720/800 on the SAT. Noel particularly enjoys tutoring physics and math.

Fun Fact: Noel enjoys playing piano and tennis.

Ohm J. is majoring in quantitative finance and mathematics in the Honors College at Rutgers University. Ohm maintains a 3.8GPA. He is a very experienced tutor, who enjoyed tutoring students throughout the last few years. He plans to become a professor. Ohm has taken and succeeded in AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP United States History, AP Statistics, AP English Language and Literature, and AP Physics. Ohm assists students in test prep, and he scored a 1420 on the SAT and a 34 on the ACT. Ohm is an upbeat and outgoing tutor who truly invests in helping his students succeed.

Fun Facts: Ohm enjoys tennis, table tennis, and gardening in his spare time. He also plays the drums and loves hip hop music.

Pilar F. is a certified teacher. She has been teaching grades 2-5 for the past 8 years.  Pilar holds a master’s degree in elementary education. She has helped elementary students in all subjects, including early reading, math, and homework help. Pilar is certified in the following programs: Journeys,, IB primary years program certifications 1 and 2 (of 3), TESOL, science fusion, and she is trained in Go Math. Pilar loves working with students of all levels and backgrounds and taught model UN for three years.

Fun Fact: Pilar loves reading, traveling, and speaking with her students about multi-cultural and celebrating differences with them.

Priya S. is a graduate student earning her master’s in science of occupational therapy at Seton Hall University. She majored in psychology and social sciences as an undergraduate at Seton Hall. Priya plans to become a school occupational therapist. She is a very experienced math, English, and science tutor, as well as experienced at assisting with college applications and preparation. She has taken both AP English Literature, AP English Language, and AP Statistics. Priya is outgoing and loves people, and serves as an ambassador for Seton Hall new families.

Fun Fact: Priya has traveled to every continent except Antarctica. She was also a dancer and enjoys playing tennis.

Rachael C. is majoring in computer science and cognitive science, and minoring in business administration at Rutgers University, maintaining a 3.7GPA. She is currently interning as a software engineer at Prudential Financial. Rachael is a leader in a Rutger’s group called Women in Computer Science (WiCS), acting as the technology director. WiCS holds monthly workshops as well as mentorship programs. She is an active mentor as well as an experienced tutor, and has served as the head teaching and learning assistant for an introduction for computer science course, teaching and leading small classes. Rachael is a wonderful science, math, computer science, and test prep tutor. Rachael is the recipient of numerous awards and honors.

Fun Fact: In her free time, Rachael enjoys video games, baking, painting, and photography!

Rachel M. is in the five year master’s elementary education certification program and English program at Rutgers University. Rachel is also in a program to receive her special education teaching license for grades k-12. She has classroom experience with various ages and types of learners. Rachel is warm, outgoing, and encouraging.

Fun Fact: Rachel is a gymnastics teacher for 5 year olds!

Rachel U-C. is majoring in criminal justice and minoring in international affairs at Northeastern University. She is currently interning as an investigative assistant at the Brooklyn Defender Services, a public defense office for people of color in low income communities. Rachel loves writing and is currently an Opinion Editor for her college newspaper. She has taken the following courses in high school: AP Psychology, AP Biology, AP English Language, AP Literature, AP Government, and AP United States History. 

Fun Fact: Rachel loves dancing and painting in her spare time.

Rahul S. is a senior majoring in computer science and a minor in cognitive science from Rutgers University. He maintains a 3.89/4.0GPA. Rahul is an active high school and middle school computer science and math tutor. He has also taught math classes for 3rd, 5th, and 8th graders at a charter school. He is currently teaching coding to small groups for ages 6-17. Rahul received  AP Calculus and AP Computer Science as a high schooler. Rahul scored a 34 on his verbal and his math ACT. Rahul plans to pursue a career in artificial intelligence. 

Fun fact: Rahul loves to play video games and work out in his spare time. 

Rene H. is an experienced educator who has taught pre-k 3, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade. She graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University majoring in elementary education and minoring in early childhood education in the College of Education and Human Services. Rene is certified k-8 and is a very experienced tutor and educator. Rene chose not to return to the classroom this year, and is instead interested in working with small groups or individuals. She works with all subjects for elementary-aged students. She is certified in health care CPR and first aid. 

Fun Fact: Rene is a mother of two grown sons. She loves reading and sports.

Rich P. majored in mathematics and concentrated in economics at Washington & Lee University. He has been a full time teacher of middle and high school math at local private schools. Rich enjoys tutoring test prep and all math subjects. Rich has been a basketball, tennis, football, and baseball coach at different schools. Rich has utilized Singapore math in the classroom and has worked with many learning styles. 

Fun fact: Rich has also coached his son’s soccer team! 

Rob F. was a certified math teacher who taught various math classes for 13 years. Currently, he is a high school principal who is responsible for supervision and instruction of all special needs teachers. He is well-versed in working with IEPs and modifying instruction to best meet all learning styles. As a student, Rob was a mathematics major and earned his MA in student business administration.  Rob is a personable and outgoing tutor who will instill confidence in students of all ages.

Fun Fact: Rob has three daughters, two of whom are twins!

Robin W. is a 31-year veteran high school and college-level English teacher who is also certified in elementary education. She is an experienced standardized test prep tutor.  Robin holds her master’s degree in education and a second degree in administration, supervision, and curriculum planning. Robin is experienced at teaching study skills and at working with students with special needs.

Fun Fact: Robin both loves to read and to shop!

Rohan D. graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in biological sciences, with a GPA of 3.77/4.00. He is an experienced tutor in  the sciences. Rohan was the president of his school’s Phi Beta Kappa honor society.  Rohan will attend dental school in the fall of 2025. 

Fun fact: Rohan loves soccer and volunteering in his spare time. He has an extensive volunteer history and enjoys giving back to his community.

Ryan L. is majoring in biological science at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He maintains a 3.68/4.00 GPA. Ryan is fulfilling his pre-medical requirements and plans to become a dentist. Ryan took AP Physics, AP Economics, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus 1, and AP Physics 2. Ryan scored a 710/800 on the math portion of the SAT. Ryan has extensive experience working with children, both at camps and as a volunteer. He is an experienced tutor and enjoys helping math and science students. Ryan speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin.

Salomine E. graduated magna cum laude from The College of New Jersey in 2021. She has been an active math tutor for several years. Salomine majored in public health and minored in sociology, maintaining a 3.8GPA. Salomine took the following AP courses: AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP English, AP US History, AP Physics, AP Biology. She is a native French speaker. She is currently a research assistant for a health economics and outcome research company. Salomine is pursuing her master’s of science in public health at Johns Hopkins in the fall.

Sami G. is a certified k-6th grade teacher. She also earned her certificate for students with disabilities and her reading specialist certificate. Sami graduated with a BA, cum laude, in elementary education and a second BA, also cum laude, in literacy studies as a reading specialist. She is an active and engaging phonics and reading literacy tutor and has helped countless children learn and improve their reading fluency. She taught fourth grade, both regular and special education students. Sami tutored extensively from kindergarten through eighth grade, in all subjects. She attended the Teacher’s College at Columbia training for reading. She also has utilized phonics, Wonders, Orton Gillingham, Basic Reading Inventory (BRI), Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA), Go Math!, Splash Math, and Study Island. More recently, Sami has worked as a science teacher for grades k-8. She’s an excellent tutor for all students and levels, especially those with special learning needs.

Sara A. is double majoring in Spanish, Arabic, and diplomacy, and minoring in criminal justice. She tutors privately and as a volunteer through the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Sara is fluent in Spanish and Arabic and enjoys tutoring in math, as well. Her positive energy is wonderful for motivating reluctant students and helping with their homework and study skills.

Sarah M. is a biology major and criminology minor at Rutgers University. She maintains a 3.6 GPA. Sarah is an experienced writing, English, and math tutor for all ages. She currently tutors math and writing for college students. Sarah plans to attend medical school and become a pediatrician.

Fun Facts: Sarah loves playing tennis and reading in her spare time.

Sarah S. is in her senior year at Seton Hall University, majoring in nursing. She will graduate with an RN. She has tutored elementary school students in math and science. Sarah was also a freshman transition leader for three years, tutoring her younger peers in all subjects. Sarah loves people and children and plans to become a pediatric nurse. Sarah enjoys organizing and helping her students set themselves up for future success with preparation and study skills.
Fun fact: Sarah loves to read, and enjoys art and dance. She was a competitive dancer.

Sean R. is currently working as a chemical engineer at a gasoline consulting firm. He graduated from NJIT with a major in chemical engineering. He is an experienced tutor for chemistry, physics, math, and history. He has worked at the math tutoring center. Sean took AP World History, AP Language & Literature, AP Environmental Science, and AP Computer Science, while in high school. He continues to improve his computer science skills and considers himself a history buff. Sean is comfortable in C++ and Java. Sean is a wonderful test prep tutor. 

Fun Fact: Sean is a native Russian speaker and is currently trying to learn to read and write in Russian. He recently visited Moscow and was proud that he could read billboards.

Shahid C. is majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in business at NJIT. He maintains a 3.85/4.0 gpa. He is a very experienced and thorough tutor. He took AP Psychology and AP Environmental Science in high school as well as a dual credit college program in high school so that he entered college with credits in Chemistry, Calculus, History, and English.  

Fun facts: He loves wrestling and badminton. Shahid is one of six siblings.

Sheila W. has a BA in elementary education, and is currently a teacher in Jersey City. She has been a teacher for more than 20 years! Sheila has worked both as a tutor for individual students in their homes and tutoring classes at large tutoring centers. Sheila teaches math to third graders in her current classroom, both to a gifted class and to a class with children with special needs. Sheila was previously a tutor for grades k-3. Sheila has used Reading Street to teach many children how to read, and she currently uses the Go Math program in her classroom.

Fun Fact: Sheila loves the beach and traveling to islands! Sheila also loves going to the gym!

Simra B. graduated with a BS in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a minor in Sociology and Psychology from Rutgers University. She is currently enrolled in the master’s program for Biomedical Science and plans to continue through the phD program. Simra graduated with a 4.0 gpa from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She has extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students.

Soren P. majored in psychology and Japanese at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Soren graduated with a 4.0/4.0 gpa. Soren is a very experienced tutor of all ages and levels. He has worked with students from elementary through college, including students with special needs. Soren worked at the Rutgers child psychology center, supervising, assessing, and monitoring the children’s development. In the future, Soren plans to pursue a doctorate of psychology.

Stephanie Z. taught science and laboratory classes for the past two years and loves working with students. She graduated with a BS in Biology from MSU and is completing her last semester in a master’s program for molecular biology. Stephanie is a native Spanish speaker, and loves returning to Colombia each year. Stephanie has taught many college students as an undergraduate. She is currently a graduate assistant, fully teaching three to four university level biology courses for the past four semesters.

Fun Fact: Stephanie enjoys reading, hiking, spending time in nature, painting, and engaging in art in her spare time.

Talya R. is a certified elementary teacher with a certificate to teach students with disabilities. She is also an experienced Hebrew School teacher. Tayla is very experienced with all different kinds of learners, as well as students with special needs, including autism, dyslexia, and ADD/ADHD. Talya volunteered in the Achieve tutoring program and worked with elementary aged students improving their reading, writing, and math skills. She has utilized the Wilson reading program, Orton Gillingham, as well as many other math, reading and writing strategies. Talya is a dedicated and energetic teacher who helps students reach their academic potential by drawing on their unique strengths and individual interests.

Tamara Q. is majoring in biochemistry and minoring in biology at Montclair State University. She is currently working in a lab as a lab technician. Her future goal includes attending medical school. She has previously volunteered with uninsured children. Tamara is very experienced at tutoring all levels of biology, Spanish, homework help, and math. She is a native Spanish speaker.

Tanya R. is a certified public school teacher for grades k-6. She is currently teaching 5th grade in a NJ public school. Tanya graduated with a BA in History and a Master’s in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Tanya is a native Portuguese speaker. She has worked at several learning centers and after school enrichment centers, providing academic support in all subjects. She has taught in both a high school and an elementary school. Tanya loves working with children and has worked in summer camps for many years. She enjoys playing soccer and all sports with kids.

Tara T. is double majoring in political science and economics at Columbia University. She maintains a 3.92/4.0 gpa. Tara enjoys working with many different students and subjects. She enjoys writing and is a member of several undergrads reviews at Columbia. 

Fun fact: Tara is a citizen of the world- she grew up in the Philippines and went to boarding school in the UK and also speaks Mandarin.

Tiana B. holds her k-6 certification in teaching from Montclair State University. She majored in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in school settings. She has taught for five years, including grades six and five. She is now pursuing her master’s degree at night to become a reading specialist. Tiana has two years of Foundations training, Go Math training, is certified in Project Lead the Way (a STEM program). She utilizes Orton Gillingham for her students but is not trained in it, and she was trained in Pearson for reading and Envision for math and uses them in her classroom. Tiana has experience working with both students with special needs and students who are gifted and talented. Tiana enjoys making learning fun and motivational for her students.

Tim N. is majoring in mechanical engineering at NJIT. He is a very experienced high school tutor. Upon graduation, Timothy plans to work in the automotive industry. Timothy scored a 750/800 on the math section of the SAT and enjoys tutoring all math courses. 

Fun facts: Timothy loves spending time at the gym and playing sports with his friends.

Wlasmith D. obtained his MA in healthcare administration, BS in biology with a biochemistry concentration and a minor in music. Wlasmith has extensive mentoring experience and is one of our most well-loved tutors. Wlasmith specializes in math and science and enjoys working with children of all ages. He is energetic, patient, and extremely supportive.

Fun Fact: Wlasmith is a musician and audio engineer. He plays and coaches lacrosse, is a fitness trainer, and an EMT!

Yidai C. is majoring in Mathematical Science at Carnegie Mellon. She is a very experienced tutor of all levels and ages in mathematics. Yidai was also a tutor through PLUS Tutors. Personalized Learning Squared is headed by Carnegie Mellon University collaborating with Carnegie Learning and Stanford University. Through PLUS, Yidai tutored students in math online three times per week. Yidai has won awards for several mathematical modeling competitions. Yidai is a native Mandarin speaker. 

Fun fact: Yidai enjoys playing chess and checkers in her spare time.

Claire N. has a passion for the domestic arts. She has taught many small crafts classes and excels at tutoring, knitting, and quilting. She can teach dressmaking and all facets and types of sewing. She is wonderful at teaching rug braiding and embroidery as well. Claire has exceptional skill and brings her students to a new level. Her calm demeanor serves her well while guiding new artisan students.
